Only data served via the OPeNDAP Data Access Protocol (DAP) are accessible through each respective portal. Special software tools have been developed by OPeNDAP, as well as by other sources, that will facilitate access to and analysis of the data. In addition to these application packages, there is a Matlab OPeNDAP Ocean Toolbox that includes Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) to access selected data sets and plotting programs to plot the returned data stream. The package also includes tools to reorganize the structure of the returned data. A simple search interface is currently being developed to allow the user to quickly find and retrieve URLs for data objects of potential interest.
